Biographical Note

Neville Clouten holds degrees in architecture from Sydney University and the Ohio State University, and a PhD from Edinburgh University. He is a member of several professional art societies, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Neville was awarded the American Institute of Architects AIA Michigan 2000 President's Award.

Following a career as Professor of Architecture at the University of Newcastle, Australia and Andrews University, Michigan, he was Dean of the College of Architecture and Design, Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan from 1990 to 2002. Publications include many drawings and sixty articles in architecture, art, science and education journals.  His book, ACADEMIC Lite: Treasures of Creativity and Reflection from Life as a University Professor, was published in 2004.  more ....

As a student, practicing architect and teacher, Neville has always carried a sketchbook. His watercolors and sketches are regularly exhibited in juried art shows, including Our Town, the Polk Art and Technology exhibition and the Michigan Water Color Society. His artwork is in private collections and corporate offices. Watercolors are generally of landscape themes and subjects from harbor towns and buildings, and record impressions from Nature and expressions of reflective thought.

Neville Clouten presents watercolor workshops on the Cunard Line Queen Elizabeth 2 and the Queen Mary 2, and leads groups of artists and friends on European river cruises with Vantage Deluxe World Travel.  See Watercolor Workshops on Cruise Ships
