Springtime in Eastern Europe and the Black Sea June 19 - July 2, 2012 Another opportunity to combine a Vantage value-added cruise with watercolor painting Neville Clouten is artist-in-residence on this theme cruise. Whether you are a beginner or serious artist you will advance your technique while you find inspiration in the towns and villages along the Danube River. Following an Introductory Lecture on Art, passengers are invited to sign-up for workshops in groups of twelve. Beginners apply washes onto a sketch of a town near the commencement of the cruise. As the cruise continues they are given the opportunity to paint original watercolor postcards or work on their 'souvenir' painting. Artist Neville Clouten leads out in critiques with advanced artists. Artists are invited to bring their own art materials. Beginners may take the opportunity to use good quality watercolor paper and paints provided by the artist at no charge. They may also share brushes on loan. On the Queen Elizabeth 2 in September 2003 participants completed a watercolor of Stonehenge from a sketch provided by Dr Clouten, and then sketched and painted the QE 2 from their imagination or from a watercolor of the ship in port at Southampton. |
